Bold in Blue

For those of you who don't know, Pitti Imagine is one of the largest fashion events held twice in Italy; and it's a series of fashion events that help mold the trends that influence what goes down the runway, subsequently, what we see other people try and "knock-off". Pitti Uomo is the men's fashion showcase, if you will. It all started back in '72 and I'm sure ever since then, people dress for the event. Everyone knows that cameras are gonna be out of their bags, lens caps come off and everything [now] has the capability to hit the the internet in minutes. So people dress up. Pitti Uomo is, in my opinion, the epitome of peacock-ing. I believe there is an un-written rule at the event, "out-dress the man beside you". So you have some bold colors hit the event. So this OOTD is inspired by one of this year's PItti Uomo. I went with a bold, bright royal blue colored pair of trousers. Complimented by a window pane pattern; the pair lends itself perfectly for summer; which is why I chose to don this straw fedora by Panama Jack, which is a summer essential. Going with the bright feel, I opted for a plain white dress shirt by Van Heusen, which lets the tie stand out. So I decided to wear this striped knit-tie by Harrison Blake Apparel. Having large, wide stripes, this tie helps you be the focus the right way. When you're "peacock-ing" it's very important to know where the line for bold is and when you cross into rodeo clown territory. No offense to any rodeo clown readers.
