As soon as you exit the freeway, no matter which direction you're coming from you can see the big red neon sign that reads FOX, serving as a beacon letting you know where the good times are. Pulling in about an hour late, I was asking myself if I had come to right place. The streets were lit (pun intended) and lively. Very reminiscent of Sunset or Hollywood on a saturday night. Streets full of cars, coming and going, groups of people on the sidewalks migrating from spot to spot. One of those spots was the only grooming cafe I personally know of in downtown pomona, The Social Cut. Being one of many local businesses on the vibrant P-Town block taking part in the monthly art-walk, The Social Cut hosted a night of live music and art, which is sure to be the one of many [I hope].
True to it's grooming lounge vibe, the night got started with live music provided by Shinobi Ghost (@shinobighost). The five piece band filled the room with relaxing tunes and the sax just sent the cool-o-meter over the edge.
Perfectly paried with the atmosphere of the music, all the art being showcased were at home inthe downtown nightlife scene. Inspired by old-school and new-school styles, artist Chris Torres (@socialdisorder) brought out his artwork out to play. Showcasing his acrylic portraits, Torres' ability and skill are obvious and apparent in his work; another perfect fit for The Social Cut and the thriving art scene in Pomona in general.

Enjoying my drink, music and company, and sitting on The Social Cut's signiture orange sofa, I savored the moment right before I had to face the reality of traffic on my way home.
